snow to sunshine

Hey there chickadees, I hope you're making it through this crazy winter weather.  And the last, y'know, six months or so before that.  Sometimes that's just the way it goes.

I was lucky enough to escape the NYC and Jersey snow for a few days last week with a little jaunt down to Florida.

Bare legs!  In February!  (And yes, I really am that pale.  Let's call it 'luminous,' shall we?  Although I'm sure I blinded a few people who caught the blinding glare off my legs.  I'm a walking geriatric opthamology accident.)

The walk to the beach through the mangroves is just as lovely as the beach itself.

I'm holding onto the sunshine from this wonderful vacation to get me through the rest of the winter.

  1. So good to hear from you! Glad things are good. The pictures from FL are beautiful! I know how it is to be that pale-that's why I wear pants! We're feeling a little snowbound up here. There's a foot on the ground, and it looks like we're going to get a lot more soon! As I have said before, I have a full pantry, plenty of firewood, and plenty of yarn! Be well!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words, Lisa! I couldn't believe it when you guys were still getting snow into April. Ugh! Thank goodness spring has finally arrived!

  2. FL vacations in the winter are awesome. I was there just two weeks ago and I was probably the palest person in the state ;) And after just two days my skin turned lobster red... sigh. But it sure was nice to soak up some sunshine to get us through the last weeks of winter. Did you enjoy some vacation knitting?

    1. Oh my gosh, it was incredible! By that point in the winter, I kind of forget that there are still places in the world where you can go out without fifteen layers covering every inch of skin. I did do some knitting! I worked on a simple vanilla sock on the beach. My sneaky brother took a picture of me knitting and captioned it "la vida geriatrica." How about you, did you bring beach-knitting on your trip? I'm sorry to hear about your sunburn!

    1. Haha! It's so true! I like to tell myself, "I am like Snow White, I am just delicately pale with a charming blue-ish hue." In reality however... I'm blinding people left and right with the glare. :)
