of cats and ducks

ducks river ice
We had one lovely, sunny day this week, and the ducks were determined to take advantage of it.

ducks
A few were even sporting snazzy hair-dos.

Meanwhile, Bucky and Cocoa cuddled and snoozed (and somehow managed to leave no room for me in a chair that's normally big enough for me to lay down in).

And then Bucky helped me with my knitting.  He had to check the coziness factor.
I think he approved.

I hope you're having a wonderful Friday!

much love monday: snow-day essentials

Brrr!  I hope you're all staying warm during this chilly weather.
On that theme, this week I'd like to share the things I gather up when there's a snowstorm on the way--
my snow-day essentials!
cozy gray wool blankets
lots of warm, cozy blankets-- ones that are big enough to wrap up in, or to cover your toes to your shoulders.

warm socks cindy taylor handknit holidays over the knee socks
snuggly socks!  these ones from Handknit Holidays are so pretty.

quince and company finch yarn
...which leads me to my next snow-day essential, yarn!  these colors are so beautiful, Quince and Company has such gorgeous wool.  And speaking of Quince and Company, thank you so much to Paula from the Knitting Pipeline podcast-- she mentioned my blog on her latest episode!

tea strawberry cup
Of course, a big cup of tea is a must.
tea journal
I love the idea of making a tea journal, too-- that would be a lovely project for a cozy day.

And my favorite snow-day must-have?  A snuggly kitty or two.

hello, december

There's a chill in the air, snow on the ground, and wreaths and twinkling lights on doors and windows.
It's December, and it feels like the holiday season!
Here's what December looks like in my little hometown.

winter ducks
brave ducks taking a dip in the river

red church door
I love these bright red church doors-- they're so bright against the gray stone on gray days.

red church door handles
The handles on the door are beautiful too, I love the intricate details on them.

etsy packages presents
wrapping and packing etsy shop orders!

winter berries
While the leaves may be gone for the winter, the berries are still holding on.

I hope you've had a great week-- it's been a little hectic over here, but that's to be expected this time of year!

down with disease

I'm sick.

Ugh.

I've been stuck in bed all day but somehow I'm still exhausted.

Not much else to report from over here...

...Have a cute cat picture, everybody likes those, right?

Right?

Bucky in lounge-mode.  Awww.
