museum of natural history, pt. 1

I spent a few very pleasant hours yesterday at the Museum of Natural History.  I've mentioned my love for planetariums before, and that's the main reason I wanted to go.  The planetarium show was really good, and just to up my geek-cred even more, it was narrated by Whoopi Goldberg, a.k.a. Guinan from Star Trek: The Next Generation.  Mmhm, I'm that kind of nerd.

I took lots and lots of pictures (though not in the planetarium, obviously), so I'll be posting them by exhibit over the next few days.  Here are some from the hall of earth and space, which focuses on asteroids and volcanic activity.

Hope you're all staying safe during this hurricane craziness!  It hasn't even started raining yet in Manhattan, and my building is just baaaaarely in Zone C (Zone A is the one most at risk), almost not in any zone at all, so I'm not overly worried.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
